Taste Tester by Food Group Star is the first of several science and technology-focused NFT projects to debut from the Food Group Star Series by ARC Communications, LLC (ARC) of Texas.
ARC, a social justice and science edutainment and publishing company, created the projects to increase public awareness about global iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) air mobility, toxicity, and accumulation, particularly in relation to the global food supply, as manganese is both nutritionally necessary and potentially harmful.
The Taste Tester NFT is a series of 10,000 NFTs to be minted on the Polygon Block Chain. The Taste Tester NFT subject, is the vibrant host of Food Group Star, a 2-D animated variety show, featuring human-like food characters as contestants. While Taste Tester appears on the show as a normal-looking host, she morphs into 10,000 completely different appearances when she isn’t on the show. Superpowers can come in many forms and from the most unlikely sources. They can show up at any time, whether the recipient wishes for them or not.
The variations in Taste Tester’s appearance stem from her close proximity to Food Group Star contestants who have high levels of Manganese (Mn) Oxide on their bodies, causing her to develop a Manganese Overload Syndrome (MOS) that turns her into a kaleidoscope of colors and patterns. The Taste Tester’s ability to stand out in any setting making her the greatest Food Group Star of all. Her NFT appearances include the following 26 fruit and vegetables: Apple, Artichoke, Asparagus, Banana, Blueberry, Cranberry, Eggplant, Mushroom, Onion, Orange, Peach, Pear, Potato, Pumpkin, Raspberry, Spinach, Strawberry, Tomato, Rice (White, Brown, and Organic Fermented), Zucchini, Dragon Fruit, Honeydew Melon, Lime, Pineapple, Starfruit, and Watermelon.

Animation narratives will highlight the NFTs and be centered on STEAAM-Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Arts, and Mathematics.
